About the Crook lab
PhD Students
We welcome interest from any first-year Ph.D. student enrolled in the Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering
Ph.D. program at NCSU. Students from other NCSU graduate programs interested in our lab should first confirm eligibility rules with their departmental administrators before contacting us. Per departmental policy, we are not permitted to consider any graduate trainees for direct admission into our lab (i.e., you must first be accepted into a graduate program). Interested prospective students should email nccrook@ncsu.edu with a statement of their research interests and their favorite season of the year.
Undergraduate Students
We welcome interest in independent research during the academic year and summer. Undergraduates who are interested in research courses (e.g. CHE497/597) must have completed at least one semester or summer of research in our lab prior to enrolling in the course - this ensures that you are well-trained prior to embarking on your research project. Please send your resume/CV to nccrook@ncsu.edu with a statement of research interest and your favorite food. If graduate/postdoc mentors are available, they will conduct an interview to determine fit.
Post-doctoral Fellows
We are happy to consider post-doctoral fellow applicants with independent funding. Interested applicants should send their CV, cover letter (describing specific independent projects), their favorite band/genre of music, and contact information for at least three references to nccrook@ncsu.edu.
